Myricom Sponsoring Hardware

Myricom, one of the leading providers of networking hard- and software for high performance cluster computers, sponsors the Computer Architecture Group. At the ISC 2005 conference in Heidelberg Chuck Seitz, CTO and CEO of Myricom, made a donation of Myrinet hardware.
The donation includes 8 Myrinet 2000 NICs and a Myrinet switch, which we immediately integrated into our local Opteron-based cluster computer.

As a result of this donation, student education in the field of parallel programming was strongly improved. When developing and optimizing parallel algorithms, students now can directly benefit from the state-of-the-art Myrinet interconnect instead of the standard Gigabit Ethernet.
